Did we just become best friends, Tracy St. George?
SPEAKER_00:We've been best friends forever.
SPEAKER_02:I know. It does really seem like that. And now we are finally podcasting together.
SPEAKER_00:I know. I'm so excited to be on the live, laugh, love Lydia, loving it, life and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_02:I know. I was like, live, laugh, Lydia. And then I had a guy tell me, you know, within like two minutes of talking to you, I felt like we were best friends. So he's like, your podcast should be remained. Did we just become best friends? And I just love that. I love when people just tell you what you should be doing differently. And so I'm just like, yeah, okay, we're doing it. So did we just become best friends? And okay, so we are gonna talk about how we met. That's how I always open the show. Okay. You and I officially met. Now I had listened to you on the radio for years, but you and I officially met in person. I do believe the year was 2011 or 2012. I would have to go back to really hope for sure.
SPEAKER_00:I was thinking the same thing. I'm like, I've got to look up those pictures and see what the time was and the date.
SPEAKER_02:Well, I if I went on Setlist FM and I looked up Duran Duran when they played the Hard Rock Hollywood. Now it was the old Hard Rock Live before they renovated and that whole outside area was gone. It was before the guitar was built.
SPEAKER_00:Yes. A long time before the guitar.
SPEAKER_02:It was a long time before the guitar because the guitar was like what 2024, I think, or something. It could just maybe like five years ago, ish. Right? Yeah. Two, three years ago. Yeah, I think actually right before COVID or just after COVID. I don't know. I can't remember. But so the concert was like 2011 or 2012, and uh my then boyfriend, the Schiffer, he he said, uh, you know, I'm gonna meet you at the venue because you know, we had obviously gotten the tickets. That was my first time I'd ever seen Duran Durant, if you can even believe that. After loving them, stop it.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:I had never seen them in concert. I was working in Miami at the time, and I was like, I'm so excited, right? And they had an album out. It was called All You Need Is Now.
SPEAKER_01:Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02:And it was like, I don't want to say it was a flop, but like nobody was listening to it. It didn't have many hits, it wasn't getting airplay. Let's just tell the truth. We're all in there because we want to hear Rio, Hungry Curry.
SPEAKER_00:Correct, say the prayer. Yes. So the story Wait, so you and Steve met that you didn't meet me, but you guys like drove separate cars there. Like you were just starting dating at that time?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, so we drove separate cars. We had been only dating about it.
SPEAKER_00:Adorable.
SPEAKER_02:And he met me there, and I was coming from work in Miami, and he I said, Well, because I he one of his pet thieves is like feeling rushed. So I said, I know you hate to feel rushed, so let's meet there early. We'll get something to eat. Back then it was like Johnny Rockets was outside, and um Gloria Stefan's place bongos was there because this is way before the renovation.
SPEAKER_00:And Madoranos? Steve Mod, was it Madorano's with those big meatballs? Yes.
SPEAKER_02:And I remember he was dilly-dowling, and I was like, come on, come on. Like, you you don't like to be rushed, and I know you're gonna get hangry, so we have to go find you something to eat. And he goes, Well, hang, hang on, relax, relax. And we were hanging around your tent for the radio station because you were doing a remote.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, we were broadcasting live with WRMF for the show, giving away tickets.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, and the funny thing is, I was like, What is he doing? He's loitering. Like, I was running out of patients. Yeah, he's loitering. And I said, he's acting weird. I was like, This is what's going on? And then he introduced me to like your sales guy, somebody from sales, and he goes, Oh, I was waiting to meet my girlfriend, Lydia, blah blah blah. And he goes, and you're gonna be going to meet Duran Duran. And I was like, What? Like, first of all, I was in shock. It is unheard of because they don't even do meet and greets.
SPEAKER_01:Right? Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02:Like, for them to do a meet and greet, they don't do it. It doesn't even happen. You can't even buy like a VIP experience. It doesn't happen anymore. So the fact that they did that at that time, and you had an interview with them.
SPEAKER_00:I did. And the thing that makes me really mad about that interview before we go back to your story, it was videoed by my friend Gabe, and he accidentally recorded over the tape. I do not have the video. It's me, Nick, and um not Simon, uh, Nick and John. Nick, yes.
SPEAKER_02:You were with John Taylor. The only one who matters.
SPEAKER_00:Exactly. The only thing that matters, it was amazing. And then um he taped over it because back in those old days we would video the stuff and it was gone. I was so upset. I was so upset.
SPEAKER_02:And I think, you know, Facebook was only a few years old at that time, so we weren't like posting every single thing obsessed like we are now. There was no reels or shorts or clips or you know.
SPEAKER_00:And if only TikTok was around, I would have it forever.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god, I was so unprepared, Tracy. When he said I was meeting them, I didn't know what to do with myself. And then there was like these massive stalker people that were like in the fan club and they were there and they had the meet and greet. I don't know how they had it. But I remember getting in line and seeing them, and I walk up and I didn't know what to say. Like for the first time, I just prepared.
SPEAKER_00:You no, you've never met a stranger.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, I have a bullet point list of things we're talking about today. I always have something in my head. I didn't know what to do with myself, and then I was such a dork. So, first of all, Nick was really short, and then Roger, I mean, they're all pretty short except for John Taylor, he's a tall drink of water.
SPEAKER_00:Yes. Oh, and Simon.
SPEAKER_02:And and Simon looked great, but Simon looked like an old man in the meet and greet. He had like a plaid shirt on, like your grandfather would wear. Oh my gosh. Just cash, right? So he had his hands in his pockets, and I remember I was such a dork. I was like, hi, and I took my hand out, and I made him like take his hand out of his pocket to shake my hand, and he was probably so grossed out. And I just, I don't know, I had nothing clever to say. So, but then the kicker was okay, so Roger, who's a cutie patootie, um, you know, he was great. But then I get to John Taylor. And this and this is this is the best rejection of my life I've ever had. So I said to him, I said, Any chance, my favorite song, Save a Prayer, is on the set list. And he goes, Nope, not on the list, not tonight. And I went, What the heck, man? Are you sure that he expected it for me? And he was like, Nope, not happening. And I said, Well, listen, you know, this is a once in a lifetime. You and I are probably never gonna see each other again. So I had to try. He goes, Yep, yep, you had to take a chance, had to take a shot. So we took a picture together, because of course then the photographer was like rushing us to take a picture. And at that time, it was like the radio station's person was posting the picture on the website. It wasn't like you could use your phones or anything. Not that we had good phones really back then. But I just I stood next to John Taylor, and then there's of course my boyfriend, and I'm swooning over John Taylor who just rejected me and is not going to play my favorite song. I mean, I've been rejected by worse, so we'll say that. And then we get into the concert, and I had like the greatest night of my life, and I was like, wow, an hour ago I was right next to them, and now they're so far away.
SPEAKER_00:Right, exactly.
SPEAKER_02:But it was a great show, and I do remember your interview because I remember like it was like in that little green room area and there was like food and stuff. Yes. And you had actually asked some of us to record questions for them.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, but that's right, I did. Yes, and I'm sure that I asked them that, but we will never get to hear it back because we'll never know.
SPEAKER_02:We'll never know.
SPEAKER_00:We'll never, we'll never know. We'll never know.
SPEAKER_02:And so then I remember watching the set list a few shows later. And do you know those sons of bitches played Save a Prayer? They added it to the set list.
SPEAKER_00:Well, didn't we see them together at Sunfest? Yes, yes, and then they played Save a Prayer. We were like, Yes, there it is! Because who doesn't want to hear that?
SPEAKER_02:Everybody wants to hear it.
SPEAKER_00:Everybody does.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, and Simon pretending to play the guitar. We all want to see it. No, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_00:I'm kidding. It's like those just first three notes. Do the little Oh my gosh. World's greatest song. It does. It gives you chills.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, so yeah, we saw them at Sunfest. I remember that night. That actually is the night that Megan Traynor was also playing, and after the Durand Duran show, actually, my husband will tell you about the time after Sunfest that I tried to jump the makeshift fence between the people in the parking lot and their bus. Are you kidding me? Oh, I almost ate it. I almost got really hurt.
SPEAKER_00:To meet Megan Traynor?
SPEAKER_02:No, to meet Duran Duran. So after Duran, it was a statement because there was multiple people playing. But after Duran Duran got off stage, I flew through the bushes and I like jumped over this hedge and I almost ate the ground. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00:But it's Duran Durant, you gotta do it.
SPEAKER_02:I try to climb this thing just like to say hi to John, you know? And and they got on the tour bus and that was it. They were kissed, right?
SPEAKER_00:Now, what would have happened if you did get to the top of the fence and waved, and they said, Come on, come along with us, Lydia. Would you have gone? Would you have been bye Steve, pick me up later? What would happen?
SPEAKER_02:I meet somebody that's been on the bucket list, like Joey Fatone from InSync is like always been my crush.
SPEAKER_00:Like, he's so cute.
SPEAKER_02:And I finally got to meet him, and I go, Well, sadly, he didn't ask me to run away with him. So I guess I'm not his type.
SPEAKER_00:His loss.
SPEAKER_02:Never mind that I was with my significant other.
SPEAKER_00:Who is so fabulously significant.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, and my hope my hopes and dreams are though that always somebody asks me to run away with him, but just a correct.
SPEAKER_00:Go on the road. Do all that fun stuff.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, because in an instant I'd be gone.
SPEAKER_00:Do you know what he's gone? 100%.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. So then I saw them again when they did the 50th anniversary of the Apollo. Uh they had a big performance in the rocket garden at the Kennedy Space Center.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh! Wait, when was that?
SPEAKER_02:That was like in 2016, and I was like Crown Center for that when I drove to beach, stayed over, went to the Kennedy Space Center, like stood in line for General Emission to run the field, and I was right up front.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh, how cool.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I just I don't know if you agree, but you know, since the pandemic, it's been really difficult to get up close and personal with a lot of these artists because the meet and greet dynamic has changed. Obviously, it's not cost effective, but if you have, you know, I always say they can't make it affordable for everybody because you can't meet 10,000 people. But you know what?
SPEAKER_00:You know, it it seems like the same people and my really good friend Peggy, who is in love with New Kids on the Block, she goes to shows all over the country, literally flies all over. She's such a fan. She's literally made friends with everybody in the band. It's so incredibly cool. But she always buys those awesome meet and greet things. She buys the tickets to go on stage. So it's like, how do we get to do that? Like, I've got to figure out what her secret is and how she can get that stuff because everybody wants them. And it's like, how in the world do people get on so fast and get that stuff? Because I want to be on stage and I want to, I don't know, grab a drumstick and start playing with the drums or something like that.
SPEAKER_02:Well, to your point about drumsticks, and then we could talk about how people do that. So I had held up, I got really clever, and I said, okay, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna f this up this time. I'm gonna have signs. Because I was right in front. So I made these signs, and it was like five different signs, and I shuffled through them during the performances. But the one sign I always make for John is he had that book that came out in the pleasure groove. So I always make a sign that says, I'm in the pleasure groove.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, I like it.
SPEAKER_02:He notices me because I'm the only one who ever has that sign, and it's the same one printed out on copy paper from the work print arena. And so I hold it up, I held it up at the film or him and I lock eyes, because obviously he's playing the guitar, so we can't just stop playing. So we always lock eyes and he gives me the like he sees me, you know. Oh nice. And so I did it there. I did it in Cocoa Beach, so like three different times he's seen my sign. So he knows who I am because I'm in the pleasure groove. Um, of course, we you know, we're not like, you know, we're not besties. We we haven't, you know. Oh my god. Yeah, we've been on the podcast.
SPEAKER_01:Not yet.
SPEAKER_02:But I made these signs, and one of them was um you know, I I Will Will work for Roger's drumstick. So at the end, when he came out with his drumsticks to throw them, he threw them to me. And this bitch, sorry for cursing, swooped in like an eagle and like a hawk and took my drumstick.
SPEAKER_00:Out of your hands?
SPEAKER_02:Like, no, he was throwing it to me and it started flying, and she swooped in and evident that he saw my sign, he pointed to me, and he threw the drumsticks to me, which I was gonna give it to Steve because he loves the drums, and then she took it. So these fans are vicious, but to your point about Yeah, they're uncool. And we're yeah, the premium experience is it's money talks, bullshit walks, right? So if you have enough money, you can buy any premium experience. However, it's the fan club. These are fan clubs, yes, they're in the fan club, they've got fan access first, you know, and they always have like the first three rows of any show, and they have access to all the premium experiences. But Durandoran hasn't had any meet and greets. So we were so lucky, Tracy.
SPEAKER_00:Right. Maybe we need to get um somehow in Durandoran management, and then we can figure out the best way for us first and then other fans to have that experience. And we'll do it first.
SPEAKER_02:They're just they're just not doing it.
SPEAKER_00:I wonder if they're just like kind of like we've been here, we've done that, their fans are our age, but we're still crazed fans and we still want to meet them.
SPEAKER_02:But we're still crazy, and I and I can't even imagine how it is to be on the other side of fan of stardom because it's like you're one person and you've got hundreds of millions of people around the globe who admire you. That's I think why Bieber liked his went mental, because he he just can't handle that many people wanting to get a piece of him.
SPEAKER_00:Well, I met Justin Bieber when he was here years ago in Miami, and this was the meet and greet. Okay, and I know you can see me the people can't, but this is the meet and greet. Hi, Justin. You you literally walked, you you keep walking and you take a picture and you keep walking. You don't you barely get to even stop because there's so many, it's literally one second. I was like, I really like your music. It was so fast, it was crazy. I was like, okay, wow, that we waited so long for that. And you keep you it's uh what is that called? A cattle train or something? It's just you just keep walking. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Like a cattle, they caught they call it a cattle call, but it's like a company. It's just uh a drive-by, a walk by.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, a a walk by is what it was. But I was like, yeah, we're best friends now.
SPEAKER_02:And I think then the NKO TV, they're doing it right because they have such a love and affinity for their fans.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, they do.
SPEAKER_02:Did you see recently? So Donnie Wahlberg was talking about when him and Jenny McCarthy.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, wait, you you froze up.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, that's okay. Can you hear me?
SPEAKER_00:Okay, say that one more time.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, so Donnie Wahlberg, when he first started dating Jenny McCarthy, he said, There's something I need you to know before we start dating. He was like, the fans come first. If we're ever like out and about walking the sidewalk and somebody comes up to us, like I am not gonna tell them no. So you need to understand you're it for me, but these fans are my family. They're so they have supported me, they have fed my family. You know, these fans are everything, they're so important to me, and I will never turn them down. And you need to be secure enough to handle that. And she was like, Absolutely, I'm in. And I really respected that about him because he appreciates his fans so much.
SPEAKER_00:All of them do. You can just tell while they're performing, you can tell that they love their fans. And you can also tell, just like John was noticing you with your sign, you can tell that they really notice their core people in the audience, and that's what makes the people love them even more, even if they're not those front people up there. The people that are in the back are like, one day that's gonna be me, and they're gonna notice me up there. They do, they love their people so much. I love them.
SPEAKER_02:They do. And and they're they're really great. And I got to see them at the Hard Rock Live a few years back.
SPEAKER_00:Cool.
SPEAKER_02:When we were at the B stage, but we were like right up front for the B stage. And I love that about them too, that they go to both sides of the arena to give everybody a chance to see them. They're just such nice guys.
SPEAKER_00:They are, they seem so just wholesome and cool. I love them.
SPEAKER_02:I know, I know. Okay, so Tracy, I want to talk to you a little bit about your radio career because I mean, to me, you're a legend, you're a South Florida legend.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, thank you.
SPEAKER_02:But let's just be clear, neither one of us are old. We're not even but is like for radio, was it all you ever wanted to do? Or how did you get started?
SPEAKER_00:Um, well, when I was in when I was really young, I used to do little radio shows with my mother's records. So I mean, always I've always loved music and I would do pretend radio shows. And then I went to college for fashion merchandising because I love fashion. But when I got there, um, oh, I went to Stout in Wisconsin.
SPEAKER_02:Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:So um I studied fashion merchandising for about 10 minutes. And then I was like, this is not as fun as I thought it was going to be. Gross. So then I called my favorite DJ. Um, her name escapes me right now because it was a thousand years ago. But I called my favorite DJ on my favorite radio station in Milwaukee, and I said, How did you become a DJ? I believe it was Holly Anderson. And I and she's like, Oh, I went here, here, and here, which was just one place. I went here, which was a school in Minneapolis. So I said, Okay. So I I don't even there was no computers. I don't know how I found out about this place then because I couldn't Google it. But I found out about the place and I got, what's that?
SPEAKER_02:The yellow pages, maybe?
SPEAKER_00:It could have been the yellow pages or 411. I just called an operator. Tell me more, operator.
SPEAKER_02:You're new to the earth, you don't know what we're talking about.
SPEAKER_00:Exactly. So um I found out where it was. I did my audition, I got into the school, and then my radio career started. And I it was television and radio broadcasting. And then my first radio job was in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, which is super far up north. They're probably buried in snow right now. And I did overnights. So I did midnight to six, and it was live back then. Like the because now usually it's um automated, so there's really no DJs from midnight to six, they'll just play. Right. But I was really on the radio from midnight till six in the morning. And I did that for one year and I said, and I'm out. Because I was like, I can't do this forever. It was just, it was so hard. It was just, it was, I loved it, but I was like, I cannot do midnight till six and have this be my life.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. So do you remember how much you made per hour on your first radio job?
SPEAKER_00:I'm just I remember I made$12,000 a year.
unknown:Wow.
SPEAKER_00:So I was like, and I was like, whoa, because I think I was 20 at that time. And back at then, you could literally live on$12,000 a year. So I was like, a thousand bucks a month. I am loaded. This is amazing. So I really thought I was kind of a big deal back then. That was 1990, when you could live on a thousand dollars a month. And then I went back to Milwaukee and I took some. Time off because I was like, I just don't know if this is right. My mother's like, you need to do this because you went to school for this. So I got another job in Wausaw, Wisconsin, also overnights. But I was like, okay, I can do this. And then I was working dual in Wausau and Madison, Wisconsin. So I was doing six shows in Wausau, two shows in Madison. So I was doing eight shows a week, driving back and forth. Then I got a job in Milwaukee. Then I was there for a long time at WKTI, which was awesome. I loved that radio station so much. Then from there, I went to Indiana. I was in Lafayette, Indiana, which is where Purdue is. And I did the morning show, Mummy in the Morning with me.
SPEAKER_02:And then my dream was morning show.
SPEAKER_00:It was so much fun. Oh my gosh. And Rick Mummy was my co-host. He was like the lead of the show. And I'm telling you, my stomach would hurt every day from laughing so hard. This guy was so freaking funny. Loved him. And then I also did the midday show. And when I was in Milwaukee, I was dating this guy who was a professional soccer player who went to Atlanta. So I was like, you know what? I'm going to see if I can work in Atlanta. So I did. So I got a job in Atlanta and I moved there and I worked at Star 94 and I did weekends.
SPEAKER_02:Wasn't Ryan Seacrest there?
SPEAKER_00:Yes, Ryan Seacrest was there, but he left right before I got there. So I did not work with Ryan Seacrest, but he was there. So I worked there and I did weekends. And then I also would fill in when people were on vacation and I was in the promotions department. And I did that for about five or six years. And then I moved over to Q100, which is now Q997, but Q100, and I did the midday show at Q100. I was there for about six years. So I was in Atlanta a total of 11. And I did a show called Cardio Radio, which was so much fun. I did that every single day during my lunch hour. It was all dance music. So it was like just a dance party for the midday. It was so much fun. And I would do appearances at nightclubs and all this stuff with celebs all over the place. And then after that, then I came down to Florida and I started working at WRMF. And that was in 19, no, that was in 2007. So I've been in South Florida since 2007. So 19 years I've been here. And I was on WRMF.
SPEAKER_02:And I didn't know before I discovered you. It was 979 WRMF.
SPEAKER_00:979 WRMF. And I did afternoons there. And then it was just, we were just a standalone. We were just WRMF. And then one day our boss said, hey, let's go buy those other radio stations over there. So we accumulated Sunny 1079, X1023, New Country 103.1, 850 WFTL, and Fox Sports 640. Yes, all those.
SPEAKER_02:So that was Wild 95.5 part of that or no?
SPEAKER_00:No, Wild 95.5, they are iHeart. And we are right now, we are Hubbard Radio. Before that, we were alpha media. Before that, we were Palm Beach Broadcasting. So we've gone through numerous, uh, which is typical in radio. We went through numerous different ownership stuff. So when we went over there, then I was doing afternoons, then I got moved to the morning show on Sunny 107.9. So I was doing afternoons and the morning show with Bill Adams, another guy who is so funny. My stomach again would hurt every single morning because he is just hilariously talented. And then I went to, I did middays on WRMF, then I did middays on Sunny 1079, then I was doing middays and afternoons on Sunny 1079. So I was doing eight hours a day. Now I am doing, they did some shuffling of stuff. So now I'm doing afternoons on Sunny 1079 from two until six. And I get to work from home. So it's pretty cool. Yeah, so now I'm working from home.
SPEAKER_02:So you are on 107.9?
SPEAKER_00:Yes, Sunny 107.9.
SPEAKER_02:Sunny. Okay. And what's the format on that station? Because I'm so detached.
SPEAKER_00:Well, we are currently South Florida's official Christmas music station. So we are playing all Christmas music right now.
SPEAKER_02:And then I like that because let me tell you. It's so fun. No, no offense to Jimmy Fallon, but his serious radio station, the Fallon one, is awful. It's the worst mix. Like, bring back Holly. I don't know what happened, and I love Jimmy Fallon musically, but no, no.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, listen to Sunny 1079. It is the best. The hits, the classics. Chef's kiss to Christmas.
SPEAKER_02:Is W I R K in the mix in here somewhere?
SPEAKER_00:Yes, New Country 1031, W-I-R-K.
SPEAKER_02:So 1031 is W-I-R-K because I'm like going through everything and I'm like trying to keep up because it like ships and it changes and I'm like, wait a minute. This was the country station. Yes. Like, who does the rib roundup?
SPEAKER_00:Is that W I Res that is um New Country 1031 W-I-RK. Yes.
unknown:And that's not print.
SPEAKER_00:Correct. Okay. Mm-hmm. Yes.
SPEAKER_02:I just want to know why am I not rounding up the ribs with you? Like, I don't know. Why don't we see each other more? We have to.
SPEAKER_00:We we must. Well, I see the funny thing about Facebook is, you know, you see everybody online all the time. I feel like I'm living your life already. And then you what's cool about it is you can pick up right where you left off, even if you haven't spoken for a while, because you still see everything that's going on with everybody. But then the downside of that is you think, well, I just saw them. But you actually didn't really see them in real life. Right. You know?
SPEAKER_02:I feel like just because we're Facebook friends is not it, it is it's not a real friendship. Like I need human interaction.
SPEAKER_00:Right? Exactly.
SPEAKER_02:Although you are my friend. I know, definitely.
SPEAKER_00:We totally are.
SPEAKER_02:Because friends don't let friends bravo alone.
SPEAKER_00:No, we have bravoed together so many times, and we need to bravo together more. The last time I was supposed to bravo with you, I couldn't make it when you hung out with Tom Scandaval.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_00:Was he super nice? But tell me.
SPEAKER_02:Can I tell you? Okay, first we have to tell the listeners that we did meet oh one miss Erica Jane several years ago.
SPEAKER_00:I've got a whole entire list of everybody that we met or that I've met too. And I forgot we met Erica Jane.
SPEAKER_02:We did. We met Erica Jane together at Revolution when she came to Fort Lauderdale, and she did the whole the pretty mess tour. And can I tell you, I loved every minute of that show I did too.
SPEAKER_00:She was so fun. The only thing I didn't like, not long enough. Because it was like 45 minutes, and it was like, more, more. She was fantastic.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I loved everything about her glam and her outfits. And the funny thing is, so when we met her, because of course we did the meet and greet. Like I don't want to go and get the VIP and the meet and greet. What's the point? My husband knows that. Don't even buy me tickets unless it's correct. And that's again, you know, you pay for the premium experience. But um I think I brought the book and she signed my book for me.
SPEAKER_00:I did we buy the books there? Because I had a book too.
SPEAKER_02:I feel like we either did you buy a book and I paid you back for it.
SPEAKER_00:Did you maybe buy me the book?
SPEAKER_02:I think my husband probably bought both of us books. Okay, that could be. Yes. But it's so funny because I look back at those pictures and I was so much heavier then.
SPEAKER_00:But you still look fabulous.
SPEAKER_02:I had lost weight and I was feeling so good, but then I'm like, oh my god, that was like a hundred pounds ago. But we had the best time, and her outfits were so spectacular.
SPEAKER_00:They were gorgeous. Weren't we wondering if Tom was there? I wonder if he was. I can I forget if we saw his like bald head in the back or something. Because it was at that where do we see him again? I feel like there was like a kitchen in the back or something that we were like peeking our heads around trying to see.
SPEAKER_02:Well, that venue, that venue's a little sketch, but it is sketch, man.
SPEAKER_00:Totally.
SPEAKER_02:I believe that you actually have had more luck with seeing spouses than I have because you were at something, I think, at Miser Park and PK was there.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, oh my gosh, PK. I gotta write that down. PK. I met PK. Um I met PK twice. PK, PK. Um, I met PK both times. Wait till you hear my Lisa Barlow. Oh, can I just say that? So you okay, we gotta wait for that. So I met PK two times. Right, exactly, for both culture club shows because he was just wandering around. I was like, PK, PK. So I've met PK, Tyle from Beverly Hills, Teresa numerous times from Jersey. I think twice with you. Yeah. Um, I met Sonia, uh Taylor from uh Beverly Hills, enough. Um Tam Tam Yes, sad lips. The lips what's that?
SPEAKER_02:The lips and forever knowing what the cat meme is now.
SPEAKER_00:I love that cat meme. Um, I met Tamara and Eddie. Um, LVP, you and I have met LVP together, right? Wasn't that at her wine thing?
SPEAKER_02:Yes, because I insisted that you pull the media card. Yes, you did. Tracy St. George. Yes. I'm like, you never ask for anything, you never use your clout, you never press credentials. You're so humble. You are not me, honey. Flashing that badge everywhere. And I'm always so humble. Tracy, the line is out the block, it's down the plaza. You have to flash your immediate credentials. You have to get us in the line to meet Lisa, and you did it.
SPEAKER_00:And we did, and we whipped right up there. Do you remember? Lisa was like, There's so many people here. And we're like, Yep, give us our wine and a photo.
SPEAKER_02:She had Pandora with her and her husband. That's right.
SPEAKER_00:She had Pandora. I forgot. I also met the Manzo brothers one time. Um, yeah, did she have Jiggy there?
SPEAKER_02:She had Jiggy or um the other one. They look alike.
SPEAKER_00:Because I met Jiggy at another um thing that LVP did in Fort Lauderdale, and Jiggy and Ken were there. So Ken was there too. But I met the Manzo brothers one time when they were doing that black water. Yes, they were rude. Were they rude? They were not friendly.
SPEAKER_02:I met them at I think the Whole Foods or something in Plant. We too. Yes.
SPEAKER_00:We must have gone to the same water tour.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:But I do like that black water. It's actually good. That, yeah, it's good.
SPEAKER_02:My daughter loves it. She loves that black water.
SPEAKER_00:It's delicious.
SPEAKER_02:Who else is on the list even?
SPEAKER_00:Um, uh, that was my whole list. Tamara, uh, Tamara and Eddie, Taylor, Sonia. Sonia I met at um a Palm Beach event.
SPEAKER_02:So you have met more people though, because you went out to Sur and you met Jax and Tom.
SPEAKER_00:I forgot. Yes, Jax and um Tom were my bartenders, and Sheena was my waitress. And Sheena is was so sweet. And you know what? The weird thing is, is you literally went in there and it was like you are living the show because they're all working there for real. It was crazy. And the food was good. I had the goat cheese balls.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, yeah, me too. And I'm not a goat cheese person, but they were.
SPEAKER_00:I don't like goat cheese.
SPEAKER_02:I have what like I call the trifecta experience. I took the kids to LA and actually we were flown to LA because I was on a TV show that I I made it on the cutting room floor of and it never met me in it. But they filmed my daughter up. Okay, it was a show called This Time Last Year. Actually, this time next year, it was the show. And so they filmed you and what your goal was, and then a year later they brought you back to see if you met the goal.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, that's so cool.
SPEAKER_02:There's all these inspirational people, like this one kidney transplant survivor wanted to like hike the Appalachian Trail and whatever, blah blah blah, and like save the world. And they they loved the mother-daughter duo because we were like doing weight loss. Oh, yes. We were we were an epic failure. This was way before any of my weight loss success. And so they brought us back out for the the retape to see if we'd met the goal. And I said, Well, I have nobody to watch my son, so they're like oh, we'll fly him out to.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:So we went to lunch at Villa Blanca, which was my favorite, and I saw Yolanda Hadid walk by.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh. Long hair or short hair?
SPEAKER_02:She I think she had long hair at the time. And and then we also saw the mom from Seventh Heaven. She was walking around Rodeo Drive shopping. I don't think I know who that is.
SPEAKER_00:I never watched that show.
SPEAKER_02:The actress that was the mom in 7th Heaven. And then um, so we went to lunch at Villa Blanca, we went to dinner at Sur, and then we went to have just like uh whatever, a drink at Pump. Oh my god. He was like seven years old. But anyway, so yeah, he wasn't drinking. But it was so fabulous, and just everything like you see on TV, and then of course, nobody from the cast was working when I was.
SPEAKER_00:Oh boo.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, they weren't filming or anything. I saw actually one person that I saw in there. I had seen like a little clip of her on the show, like on the side. But Pump, I love really well.
SPEAKER_00:You gotta tell the story of when you um ran after LVP in Las Vegas.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, that is slow breathing.
SPEAKER_02:So was it when was it before we no, it was be it was after we met her at the Total Wine in Boca.
SPEAKER_01:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:So I was okay, I was in Vegas and I was manifesting. I had seen on Instagram that LVP was on the PJ. Oh my gosh. And she was on her way to Vegas, and I went, oh my god, it is happening. I'm like, we're going to the cocktail garden, the Vanderpub cocktail garden. And let me tell you, the drinks in there are so delicious. Really? And we were supposed to go, we were gonna go around like 4:30, and I don't know, something delayed us, but me and my friends get over to Caesars, and I was live on Facebook, and we were walking through the casino, and then I saw this like little bit of a crowd as we're walking up to the restaurant, and then I saw her hat. Oh and I went, This is not a drill. LVP is in the building, and this is not a drill. We're manifesting, we're meeting LVP, it's meant to be, it's happening. So she's coming out and we're waiting in line to get in because they weren't letting us in yet. Apparently, she was just ending a private event. And she comes out, and I'm like seven people back, and I went, Lisa, Lisa, like I will not be ignored, right? I flew all this way from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. So she goes, she looks at me and I and she goes, darling, and I said, Where are you going? She goes, Oh, well, we're going to dinner. And I said, Well, you can't leave. I said, We're here to see you. And then like Ken was there, and then that guy, that designer guy who does all her like Shishi Fufu? That guy? The guy who does all the design in her restaurants.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, okay.
SPEAKER_02:And I was like, You can't leave us. I said, We have to see you. Oh my gosh. This was things were taking a terrible turn on Beverly Hills, and those bitches were being really nasty at her, and you're all turning on her.
SPEAKER_00:She was the w they were the worst to her.
SPEAKER_02:I said, Lisa, I said, What is wrong with those bitches in Beverly Hills? They've turned on you. And she's like, God, like you have no idea. And then, um, you know, because she was just promoting the opening of the cocktail garden. So she goes, darling, take you up, take this picture and post it on the Twitter. So I did. I don't even use Twitter anymore. X, whatever it is. Me either. And I posted the picture and she retweeted me, and I thought, oh my god, oh my gosh, you made it. But it was like, I have the video still to this day of me saying, Where are you going? Like, what are you doing? You can't leave us. Like, we're all standing here. We want to see you. She did she took pictures with us. She was very gracious. And I told her I hadn't met her in Boca and blah blah blah. And she was just love. I love her.
SPEAKER_00:I do too. I think she's so classy and so fabulous. Did you watch the new Vanderpump Rules? I watched it the other day, just the episode one. I'm people were saying they hate it. I thought it was okay. I can get into these people.
SPEAKER_02:I watched it because I have to see what all the hullabaloo is about.
SPEAKER_00:Exactly. I want to see who these new people are. Let me see them. I've got to tell the I've got to tell your friends here. Um, the time when we met uh Lisa um uh Teresa and we were at um Allen B Cosmetics or Allen B something, and we met her, we had our photo with her, and then we're just kind of standing there, and and Teresa's just like right over there. And I was like, what are we supposed to do? What are we supposed to do? And you say, Teresa, I'm going to Italy. Where do you think I should go? And you start this whole conversation with her. I'm like, how does Lydia do it, man? You are just so brave, and you just go for it, and then everybody's you are so engaging, and everybody wants to talk to you. I love that about you. It's so great.
SPEAKER_02:This was back in tough times. She was still married to Juicy Joe, and that's right.
SPEAKER_00:Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02:Things were not good. And she was doing any appearance she could get to make it.
SPEAKER_00:And there were there were so many people at that event. So many people.
SPEAKER_02:So many people there. And I remember um we just started chit-chatting, and I had this we had a leopard dress on because I was so proud of myself because I lost like 50 or 60 pounds, and I was, you know, feeling confident. And you and I, I mean, you we were looking fabulous.
SPEAKER_00:And I for some reason I wore a Bob Marley t-shirt. I don't know why. I don't know why I did. It was adorable, but I don't know why.
SPEAKER_02:You bought it on the way there. Like you literally stopped at the store and got it. I remember you telling me because you didn't know what you were wearing. And I'm like, well, I'm wearing a leopard.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh. I know I was wearing leather pants, so maybe that's why I was just like, this is gonna be it.
SPEAKER_02:Yes. Listen, you always can pull it off. You you always look great. But it's we had so much fun, we had so much fun at cosmetics place or whatever. And you know, meanwhile, this lady's probably just like somebody book an appointment for some botox and bought some business, right? Is Teresa there for to get people in the door?
SPEAKER_00:But it was I just remembered I met Dolores too. Dolores, and she was at Allen B's other um place, and Dolores is about the coolest person on the planet, exactly how you see her on TV. So cool.
SPEAKER_02:And I'll tell you why. Because well, besides LVP the Queen, because I went to holidays with the housewives. This is right before COVID. This was December of 2019. I know exactly when it was because that was like a big celeb month for me. And I went to holidays with the housewives. Of course, I had the meet and greet, as I always do. Of course, and it was Kelly Dodd, oh my gosh, and Ramona Singer.
SPEAKER_00:Oh dying! I want to meet Ramona so bad.
SPEAKER_02:And this is where I say you're doing it wrong because you should have been the moderator. So the Parker Playhouse, let me tell you, no disrespect to the Parker. I love the venue, but their host canceled on them, like whoever was supposed to moderate the talk with them, and they had some guy that worked at the Parker. No way in, and he didn't even know who these people were, and I was so pissed. Oh my gosh! I could have moderated that panel seriously. I didn't even know who these women were, and I said, This is such a disservice to the fans, I was pissed.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:They had a fishbowl, and you could put questions in for the girl for the ladies that they were gonna pull out of. So, of course, I put like six questions in. Of course. So he kept pulling them out of the fishbowl. He's like, Well, Lydia from Fort Lauderdale wants to know, and Lydia from Fort Lauderdale wants to know, and then by the time we were done, everyone's like, Who this bitch from Fort Laureal talking about all the questions, and I'm like, Well, I'm sorry you didn't know the fishbowl was in the lobby. Right? Too bad. Very poorly run. But at the meet and greet, we're waiting in line, and Kelly was lovely. She was actually very gorgeous in person.
SPEAKER_00:She is stunning.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, she's very pretty in person. And then, of course, Ramona's standing there looking at Annoyed with everybody. And I said, Of course. Ramona. I said, What's wrong? What's the matter? She goes, Well, you know, I you know, I'm waiting so long and I'm hungry. And I go, Somebody get this little Snickers. She's family. Snickers. It's like the Snickers commercial was out. Like that fixes the hanger. I said, Somebody get this lady a Snickers. I said, Ramona, you got a very long line of people waiting on me. I don't know what you're gonna do, but somebody get her a Snickers.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:Dolores Catania couldn't have been lovelier. And I said, Dolores, when is your Frankie and my Isabella? When are they gonna get together? Like, we have to be I love it. She was so sweet to me, and she was like, Frankie, well, you know, he's very focused on his career right now, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then she hugged and kissed me goodbye, like I was family. Like, because we're all my family, all my family's from Jersey. I'm Italian, and I'm like, I just felt like I was with my people.
SPEAKER_00:I love it. She was lovely, and she's gorgeous too, just as stunning in real life. Oh my gosh, she's beautiful.
SPEAKER_02:And that hair I don't think she needs, I don't think she needs the work she gets. Like she was kind of young to be going through a facelift and a BBO. Right. Yeah. She did a lot to herself too young, I think, but she does look great.
SPEAKER_00:But it it looks natural. It doesn't look like you know, or anything. It looks just very enhanced. Enhanced plus.
SPEAKER_02:Yes. But what you see is what you get with her. I love that about her.
SPEAKER_00:Who have you not met yet that you're dying to meet?
SPEAKER_02:You mean in the Bravo verse?
SPEAKER_00:In the Bravo world.
SPEAKER_02:I guess I think I just want to finish off a cast, right? So, like Oh, yeah. When I went to Bravo Con, it was the cast of Miami was all there, but I didn't get to meet them. But I have met Alexia and Marisol because I went to their little um Marisol.
SPEAKER_00:I met her too. Yes. I love Marisol.
SPEAKER_02:Loved them. I met their husbands too. Um, so I loved them. But so Kyle, I I asked the question on the TikTok that went viral.
SPEAKER_00:Oh yes, I remember that.
SPEAKER_02:We had an opportunity to ask questions, so I ran up to the microphone as soon as I knew what they were doing. Um, so I didn't really meet her, but I talked to her. So I kind of consider that a meeting, sorta. But you know, so we've got Erica, Kyle, LVP. So I've met three from Beverly Hills, you know, but I've met a couple from Jersey. Like, I feel like I have to round off a cast.
SPEAKER_00:That would be very cool. Didn't you meet Stasi too? Didn't you go to the Stasi book thing? Yes. I went to the Was she cool?
SPEAKER_02:I met her. Yeah, she was lovely. She was lovely. I met her. But let's talk about Scandaval.
SPEAKER_00:Oh yes, tell me about Scandaval because I liked it that you hopped in there and tried to do an interview with him.
SPEAKER_02:Well, you and I, you and I had a little celebrity encounter with Schwartzy. Don't worry about it. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00:And uh James Kennedy, man, we have got a long list of the people that we've met. Schwartz was so freaking cool. I love him. I love him.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god. So here we are at the Hard Rock because James Kennedy is DJing. And I said, Tracy, my friends from Orlando are on the Bright Line coming down. They're coming to Hard Rock. And James Kennedy happens to be DJing tonight. And you had you had bought general admission tickets to the James Kennedy thing. Little did we know he was gonna come on at 1 a.m.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh. We were like, What?
SPEAKER_02:I know. So then I'm texting you and I'm like, you're not gonna believe this. I'm with my friends in the high limit room, and they said we can go to the nightclub and we're gonna roll VIP. And I said, and your ass needs to be here with me. So let me know when you get here, because there was like four of us, and we had this big VIP table. Like it was huge.
SPEAKER_00:It was we had a booth.
SPEAKER_02:We had a booth, it was great. So I'm with these acquaintances that have graciously invited me to come into the VIP and drink the Dom Perion, which I never had, I had never had before. And there was a bottles of booze in there. It was the biggest bottle of Dom I've ever seen in my life. Because you have to spend like a minimum of 4K to be like even at one of those tables. Right. So here I am on my teacher's salary, drinking champagne. Like I'm I who do I think I am?
SPEAKER_00:We thought we were housewives.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god, it was the best.
SPEAKER_00:So it was so much fun.
SPEAKER_02:The the square, the the booth next to the DJ, like right next to us, was open. And all of a sudden I turn around and there's Brian Benny from Family Karma. Yes. Well, I know Brian from he went to the high school that I was working at. So I'm like, oh my god, Brian, what are you doing here? Blah blah blah. And he's like, Oh, James invited us to come. And then I turn around and there is Tom Schwartz looking like a snack.
SPEAKER_00:So cute, so adorable.
SPEAKER_02:He is so stinking cute and he is so funny. So he turns, I turn around, and it's me and Schwartz looking at each other, and he's like, I don't know you. And I went, Schwartz! And I just gave him a huge hug, like I was the long-lost cousin, and he was knew who I was. And I went, it's okay. I said, I'm not a stalker. I said, I know Brian. It's so nice to meet you. I said, You gotta come meet my friends. And let me tell you, the gays, they were so thrilled. My that were in the VIP were so thrilled to meet Tom, and you would have thought, like, I mean, we just made the Bravo verse for them.
SPEAKER_00:It was so awesome. Who was that lady that was there that you knew as well? I didn't know her, but there was some lady that was there that was also a uh a reality show person. She had long black hair, really super pretty.
SPEAKER_02:She was dating Brian.
SPEAKER_00:Uh, wasn't she a reality person too?
SPEAKER_02:I don't know. I think she was. So now the the connection here was that Brian and Tom had both been on Summer House together or Winter House, one of the houses. They had just finished filming one of the houses I didn't watch. So, you know, it gets to be a little overwhelming. I can't watch it all. Like, I do not watch Salt Lake City. I know that's weird.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh, I love Salt Lake City. Love it, love it, love it.
SPEAKER_02:When they first announced that cast, I looked at these women and they had such enormous faces full of filler. They did. They were really hard to look at. They were Jen Shaw. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, Jen Shaw's face was like literally a square. It was so full. It was, and she's the ugliest ugly personality, ugly, mean person. And I don't mean ugly in the face. I just mean she's a horrible person. She just got out of jail. So, and even Andy said, um, no, she will never come back. She's she's the worst, meanest person ever. But um, I love Salt Lake City.
SPEAKER_02:Opportunity when you get it, if you get on reality TV, come on, how do you mess that up?
SPEAKER_00:Oh, watch it. Just watch like the f literally start from the beginning because Salt Lake is only like five five seasons in. Watch like one, two, three of season one, and you'll see how this lady messed her stuff up. She is mean, screaming, yelling, she's horrible. She wasn't even fun to hate. Because you know you got the people that you there are fun to hate.
SPEAKER_02:She's awful.
SPEAKER_00:And I'm so glad that she got arrested.
SPEAKER_02:I think fun to hate is leading us right back into Tom Sandoval because Okay, yes. Yes. Okay, so the world hated him, right? So it's this, you know, he just happens to have been the victim of the cheating scandal heard around the world, right? Seriously. All been cheating on each other, sleeping with each other from day one of Anthropology, right? So, uh, you know, my husband follows these people because of me. He says, Oh, I saw Tom, somebody or other from Bravo is gonna be here. Do you want to go? And I said, Listen, I can't guarantee I'm home that weekend because I might be on a cruise. Because, you know, I cruise often. And I said, I don't know. I said, if I if we do go, it's gonna be a very last minute thing. And he's like, Well, I gotta ask Tracy if she wants to come down. I said, Well, don't do that because I don't know if I'm going yet. I said, just give me a minute to breathe, right? And I don't know if you had plans or what was going on, but at the last minute, like the day before, I gave him the green light. But of course, he buys the two tickets and mine's a VIP with the meet and greet and everything. And we go. And can I decide first of all, I love the culture room. If you're ever in Fort Lauderdale, culture room is fun. Man, we have people listening around the country and around the globe, and it's like if you're in Fort Lauderdale and there's a show at the culture room, especially if it's somebody like from back in the day that you want to see it's such a great venue because it's so small. And there's not a bad seat in the house, and we like to go up to the balcony and just look down at the stage. So we go upstairs and we're kind of leaning against the you know the bar, and the band comes out, and can I just tell you his band is fantastic.
SPEAKER_00:Really?
SPEAKER_02:So his he's got great musicians that are actually willing to be seen with him and tour with him. And they are fantastic musicians. I mean, they were really good. So, of course, they're a cover band, which I'm fine with because I love cover bands. I go to the band.
SPEAKER_01:Right, exactly.
SPEAKER_02:So his thing had just gone viral from when he like tried out for America's Got Talent and did Aha Take On Me. And it was actually a fun performance. So we're enjoying the show and having the best time ever. And he was great.
SPEAKER_00:Really? So good.
SPEAKER_02:And so it like, listen, I don't care. You cheated on your girlfriend, who cares, right? She should be thanking him. He should be getting presented of what she has made for her success now?
SPEAKER_00:Seriously. She would have gone nowhere if she would have not gone nowhere, but she would have just been stuck doing that same thing forever. So, yes, thank you, Tom Scandaball.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, so thank you for ruining my life and tapping my wallet. We should all have those problems. Please.
SPEAKER_00:Well, who knew she was so talented? We would have never known she was so talented until this. Who knew she'd sing like that, dance like that, act like that? All we thought was she was just a mopi bartender. I mean exactly.
SPEAKER_02:I feel like she should be thanking him, but she wasn't gonna thank you.
SPEAKER_00:But so after the show, you go and meet him.
SPEAKER_02:We go in the courtyard, and my husband is so funny because they kicked everybody out that didn't have the wristband, but my husband somehow survived sitting on a chair in the corner. And they didn't kick him out. So when I was like second to last to meet him, and I was chit-chatting with the lady who was selling his merch, and turns out she's a super fan who asked if she could work for him and twisted him to do the merch. Out of here.
SPEAKER_01:Yes, oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:She went to see him like six different times and finally was like, I want to work for you. Can I sell your merch? I guess she's a realtor, so she had a lot of flexibility or whatever. So we were chit-chatting about the merch. I didn't buy any merch though. And then he comes up and he goes, Hey, it's like, how are ya? What's your name? And I'm like, Lydia. And then he saw my husband, who, by the way, didn't have the wristband on, and he goes, Hey, what what what's your name? Come on over here, come on over, be with us. And I he I go, This is my husband, Steve. He puts up all with my Bravo fandom and he goes, I'm so sorry, dude. He's like, Oh my gosh. Because I had to explain to my husband that this guy caused the cheating scandal heard around the world, the most hated man on the globe at one point. So I had to like try to explain to him everything.
SPEAKER_00:And he's probably like, wait, what?
SPEAKER_02:First of all, he's extremely handsome. He looks great. And I but I did say to him, I go, Tom, I said, You're a little fen. Are they feeding you on this tour? I said, I'm a mom, I'm Italian. Oh, I need a little something. He goes, No, no, they're taking good care of me. So it turns out his supermodel girlfriend.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, yeah. Tell me about her.
SPEAKER_02:He's from Benita Springs.
SPEAKER_00:She is?
SPEAKER_02:She was she's her family's from Benita Springs. Oh my gosh. That's where they were ending the tour, was they were ending it in Benita and spending a few days with her family. Oh, that's right. They went and he was bartending at the uncle's bar. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Out of here.
SPEAKER_02:Oh man. And that's what I like about him. He's like, I don't care that the whole world hated me. I'm gonna come out. I'm gonna do my thing. And people are still showing up for it. And I am so here for it. I mean, come on. Were we not taught to forgive people? Correct.
SPEAKER_00:Correct. Yes. Well, do you think he's gonna continue doing this? Like, what is he doing now?
SPEAKER_02:Well, okay, so rumor has it. Rumor has to be a tumor that he's joining the valley.
SPEAKER_00:No.
SPEAKER_02:Yes.
SPEAKER_00:So Jax is out and Tom will be coming in?
SPEAKER_02:Perhaps.
SPEAKER_00:You know what? I love the Tom Tom. So if Shorts and Sandoval are gonna be there, I like it.
SPEAKER_02:I didn't know that. I hadn't read that little juicy tidbit, or otherwise I would ask about it. But I do have to tell you, I asked him to be on the podcast because I do ask everybody I meet. I saw that? Lala said yes, that she would be on my podcast, and she never did. She didn't keep her promise. But the episode I had with Lala's personal assistant, her former personal assistant, is my top downloaded episode.
SPEAKER_00:Stop it. Very nice.
SPEAKER_02:My number one episode for like 300 downloads. Whoa.
SPEAKER_00:I love it.
SPEAKER_02:I know. I'm growing slow and organically. But La Lala can't said she would be on my podcast and she lied. She didn't come. But Tom said, he goes, you know what? He goes, Lydia, is like podcasts is like are so scary for me. I feel like they are just so risky.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, right.
SPEAKER_02:You never know what people are gonna say and how they're gonna edit you. And I said, Tom, you could trust me. I would never do that.
SPEAKER_00:You can trust me. Trust me.
SPEAKER_02:You just sent me 30 minutes ago, right? Trust me.
SPEAKER_00:We're like, oh my gosh. So do you have like his do you have his like manager's phone number and stuff that you can be like, hey man, I was seriously serious. Give me a call when you got even five minutes.
SPEAKER_02:No, we didn't get that far. And Joey Faton, the same thing. Because when I met him, I said, I want you to be on the podcast. He's like, get with this person and that person, and we'll see if we can make it work. But you know, they just blow smoke up your ass.
SPEAKER_00:Right. Talk to my people.
SPEAKER_02:Tracy St. George. Tracy St. George doesn't blow smoke up anybody's ass.
SPEAKER_00:Well, it only took me this long to finally do it because we wanted to do this for so long. And then I was like, nope, no. Well, I just couldn't, couldn't, couldn't. Then I'm like, wait a minute, I've got time now. So we can do this every day.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god. I think we're just a force to be reckoned with.
SPEAKER_00:I do too. Right?
SPEAKER_02:I feel like you and I are unstoppable.
SPEAKER_00:I agree. Agreed. Especially if we have some Vanderpomp wine and sangrias. We can do that. Pomptinis. We can make our own.
SPEAKER_02:So you're out and about in Palm Beach quite a bit.
SPEAKER_00:Well, you know, last night I was gonna. Do you know Sue Bell? Do you follow Sue Bell?
SPEAKER_02:I know who you're talking about.
SPEAKER_00:Oh yeah. I love her. And yesterday she was actually doing an appearance because she lives in Palm Beach. So she was doing an appearance at Five Story in Palm Beach. And my friend and I were gonna go there because she was there for like two hours or something. And then we ended up not being able to go there because we were sidetracked by tacos. So we end up making it over there. Right?
SPEAKER_01:Tacos with you.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, we can totally do tacos, and then we'll have to see when Sue Bell comes back. But um, yes, I love her and I want to meet her so badly. She is just so funny. I can't believe I haven't seen her anyway, cruising up and down, you know, Worth Avenue and whatnot, shopping around. But oh, she is just so fabulous.
SPEAKER_02:You know, Bethany Frankel's been spending a lot of time in Palm Beach.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, she has, and I think she posts it after because um if she posted it now, I'd be like, bye, I've got to go see Bethany. Did you see recently somebody like bought her for his wife for her birthday? So bought her an appearance from Bethany. How fun is that?
SPEAKER_02:Well, that's what I say. Anything is for sale, right? If you have enough money, you can have any VIP premium experience. But I didn't know that she was for sale. Like, where where's the website where you can book Bethany?
SPEAKER_00:Where we can buy Bethany. Maybe Bethany would like to be on your show and she could tell us all of the levels of things that we could buy from her. I just want her to stop eating with her mouth open. I hate that when she does that.
SPEAKER_02:Right.
SPEAKER_00:And it falls out of her mouth.
SPEAKER_02:I know. And I did I did buy the Trader Joe's chicken salad because of her.
SPEAKER_00:Is it good? Uh-huh. It's okay. You know what's you know what's really good, chicken salad? The um chicken salad from Aldi. It's delicious.
SPEAKER_02:They actually do. They have good. Um, you know, I just think that part of the problem is we idolize these people and we inflate their egos.
SPEAKER_00:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:So we can't help ourselves.
SPEAKER_00:We can't. They are so fabulous, they're so fun. And it's either we're watching to know what not to do, or we're watching them to do something. So it it's I I can't get enough of them. I love their hair, their style, their attitude, their catchphrases that they use. I mean, I love it. I love it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And I just, you know what I the one thing, the reason why I think I do like Bethany and I follow her still is because everything she does or purchases or has is so far out of my reach, right? I'm never having a bargain. I don't honestly, I think it's an ugly bag. I would, I wouldn't even want one. If somebody gifted it to me, I'd sell it. But I do love her humanitarian efforts with Be Strong. I think that's very true.
SPEAKER_00:Well, she thinks that I either I'm missing that stuff with Be Strong now because I remember her doing that in the past, but now I just see her, I'm gonna save the world, you guys. You're welcome. So I need more Be Strong stuff because I totally agree with you. Very admirable.
SPEAKER_02:That's my biggest beef. And they say like you're not supposed to advertise your charity, and most of these celebrities do their stuff anonymously, and that's fine. But I think when you have that platform, so she does she partners with the Global Empowerment Mission, and they're like down in Miami and they have a big warehouse, then you know, there's a lot of activism going on behind the scenes to prepare for when the next disaster strikes. So it's only when those disasters strike that you see the action and the social media stuff really, you know, get public. But I just wish more of the celebrities would be a little more philanthropic. I think that would be very good for their image. Be a little more charitable because nobody feels sorry for you when you're walking around with a million-dollar birkin bag. I mean, that's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00:Or like, oh, this is or they like have like 5,000 Birkenbags. It's like, really? I would like to. My world ambition in life is to be a philanthropist. I would like to have millions of dollars, keep some of it, but give a lot away. That's what I would like to do. So if anybody would like to help me out with my philanthropic dreams, yes, I can give you my Venmo.
SPEAKER_02:I know I was gonna say, so so are you are you proposing that we start our own nonprofit and we walk the streets of Worth Avenue and help the less fortunate? Oh, wait, they're not on Worth Avenue.
SPEAKER_00:But we could get the donations. We could, I don't know what we would sell, but we could set up a little table and say, help us fund the disasters of be more charitable. Exactly. Be more charitable. I think you could do it.
SPEAKER_02:And I did notice that you did take your mom to Italy at at one point.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, my mom and I had the best trip. Yes, we did.
SPEAKER_02:Is your mom in Wisconsin still?
SPEAKER_00:Yes, yes. She actually just called well before we were doing this podcast.
SPEAKER_02:But when is she gonna join everybody else who moves to Florida?
SPEAKER_00:Ask her that all the time. I tell them, you don't have to stay up here in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin, that for some reason I'm going up to tomorrow. But um Yeah, I keep telling him, you gotta come down here and live in Florida. It's fabulous. But now that it's so expensive, who knows?
SPEAKER_02:I know.
SPEAKER_00:But my son, you know, moved out to Arizona. What's up?
SPEAKER_02:Yes, Hunter.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, Hunter moved, moved away from me.
SPEAKER_02:How's he doing? What is he doing, though? Because he actually went to media school, didn't he?
SPEAKER_00:He went to full sale and he went there for um film editing, et cetera. And now he works for this guy named Hunter Constantine, who is a professional shooter. Like and he does um shooting competitions. He does like Hunter, and it's funny because my son's name is Hunter and he works for Hunter. They were just at Smith and Wesson the other day because Smith and Wesson just debuted a brand new firearm. So Hunter Constantine will go and review the gun and all that stuff, the firearm, and then my hunter will film it and do all that stuff. And then Hunter, my Hunter takes it back, edits it, and then puts it on all the socials, this, that, and the other. But they were just in um South Africa for like two weeks for, I don't know what it's called, but it's kind of like the Olympics of shooting. So they were over there. He was actually working for uh Blacktip H, which is a um these guys that are also YouTubers, and then they go out into the Atlantic Ocean and they catch blacktip sharks. And Hunter started working for him and was doing all the filming for him. And that's how he met Hunter Constantine. So it's just kind of they all just kind of melded together. But he's so good. He's so busy all the time, though. I'll call him up. How are you, Hunter? I'm busy.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, you know, do your kids do that?
SPEAKER_00:Daniel Bella, do they do that to you when you call? I'm busy.
SPEAKER_02:No, because you know, Bella became a flight attendant.
SPEAKER_00:I know that's my dream job, too. Oh, so cool.
SPEAKER_02:If we could afford to live on flight attendant pay at our age, that would be a different story. Right.
SPEAKER_00:Well, we could all be like the golden girls and just live together and be flight attendants and whatever.
SPEAKER_02:That would be amazing. You know, there's this one lady I follow, she's like 62, she's over in Europe, and she became a flight attendant like later in life, and she loves fashion, so she does her outfit of the day, and then she makes travel content like in her flight attendant outfit.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:She's just skipping through Europe as a flight attendant, and I love her.
SPEAKER_00:Well, we gotta find out her full scoop. Where does she live? How does she survive?
SPEAKER_02:I have actually maybe she sleeps on the plane, doesn't have a spot.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, because we've got questions.
SPEAKER_02:We have questions.
SPEAKER_00:We've got questions. Tell me about uh Bella's adventures. I want to know the Bella flight attendant adventures.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, so she became a flight attendant for United Airlines, and she is based out of Denver, so I moved her to Denver. And right now she's in Oregon, and then she actually has a layover on Saturday night in Palm Beach, so she'll be a little bit of a night for one night. Oh, how fantastic. Then she'll go on, you know, she'll finish her three or four-day trip, whatever she's on. So she's just back and forth all over the place. I'm waiting for her to get like a really good layover somewhere that I can join her.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh, so cool.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, like she met she met a crew member who holds a line to London, and she was like, Oh, if I ever don't feel like doing this trip, I'll give it to you. And I was like, Yes, give it to her.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, exactly. Oh my gosh. How cool.
SPEAKER_02:I'm excited for her because I feel like when you're young, that's when you have to take the risks and you have to do things and try things. Like, like if Hunter didn't do the schooling and go work in filming and editing and and cinematography, like he wouldn't know if he really loved it or not. You know, and I think there's so many opportunities that people are not aware of because content creation and and and filming and editing, there's so much content that we are, you know, we see every single day. Somebody's making it, somebody's filming it, somebody's editing it. Look at Mel Robbins, like her podcast. She has a whole team of people, and she's always hiring for editors. And you have to be really good at the visual effects and the different camera angles, and it is such a skill, it's such an art, and I don't think it's going anywhere.
SPEAKER_00:And it's like not only the filming, but then it's sitting in front of your cam in front of your computer editing, editing for hours and doing the the clips and this, that, and the other. I mean, that that's a big job. People think it's easy, it's not.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, think about on the large scale for movies. Right.
SPEAKER_00:But yeah, hence why when we see like a movie is coming out in 2027, why do we have to wait so long? Well, now we know why. Editing. Yeah, exactly. I just love that TikTok has that auto cut or whatever where it's like you put all your stuff in and then it does all the clips and puts the music behind. It's like, oh, thanks. That was easy.
SPEAKER_02:I haven't tried it.
SPEAKER_00:I need to oh, it's so cool.
SPEAKER_02:I haven't been really that active on the talk, but I do need to ramp up a little bit. I just haven't figured out what my niche is. Like, what is my stuff? Like because I love to cruise, but I don't really want to be a cruise content creator.
SPEAKER_00:Your cruise content is fantastic. Um, all of your outfits, you need to do outfit of the day for your cruises. I want to see swimming suit of the day, um, lunch outfit, dinner outfit. You are chef's kiss. You're you are on top of it.
SPEAKER_02:I have to credit my friend Bonnie who elevates the fashion game, and we do a little matchy matchy. Okay, so you're gonna appreciate this because you're from Wisconsin. So we call ourselves Laverne and Shirley.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, I love it.
SPEAKER_02:You know, she's a little flaky sometimes, and you know, we laugh and carry on. So we Schlamiel and Schlamozzle are ourselves all over the cruise ships in matching outfits.
SPEAKER_00:Fantastic. I love that, and that makes it more fun, and then people recognize you and they want to know you, and then you say, I've got a podcast.
SPEAKER_02:I know, I love it. You should be on my podcast. Like, oh, you have a podcast? And again, fancy like that. Like anybody can have a podcast. It's 2025.
SPEAKER_00:Right? You should do a podcast from like the um the uh what what is like the lounge called? Like the lounge on there.
SPEAKER_02:I should.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, they always do trivia in there, so just say no trivia today. We're doing a podcast, folks.
SPEAKER_02:I know. You know what? And it's funny, I do schmooze and I get friendly with some of the cruise directors, so maybe I could have that happen. Yes! This is what I did with Virgin Voyages, okay. This is where, like, because I have the imposter syndrome, but then I go, okay, stop, snap out of that right now. You are worthy to be here.
SPEAKER_00:That's right.
SPEAKER_02:And so I sent, I found out that they were doing a private media like tour of the brilliant lady, which is the new Virgin Voyages ship that just came to Miami. And I sent this media request and I said, hi. I said, My name is Lydia, and I have a podcast. It's legit, it's on all platforms. Here's the link. And I said, I would like to know how I can get the media credentials to be on board for the ship tour. Do you know they they invited me and gave me the VIP?
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh!
SPEAKER_02:But I was too scared to go to Richard's rooftop. I really wanted to meet Richard Branson.
SPEAKER_00:Oh man!
SPEAKER_02:I know, I don't want to grow up there.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, you totally should have. I can't believe you didn't. I find that very that is very not Lydia of you.
SPEAKER_02:It's so unlike me.
SPEAKER_00:It's so unlike you.
SPEAKER_02:I think I thought that my badge wouldn't work there, but it turns out it did have the VIP invitation. I had went. I know. So Well, just do it again. But I'll do it again. Exactly. Do it again. Anytime there's an event now, I'm like, you know what? I have a podcast. I would like to know how to get media credentials to join this thing or this event today, whatever. But the really the goal is to get invited for somebody from a PR group or a marketing group of a brand to reach out to you.
SPEAKER_00:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:Until then, I'll just keep pedaling myself, you know.
SPEAKER_00:Correct. Correct. Honk your own horn. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02:So, do you have any good events or anything coming up uh through the new year, or are you going to be away?
SPEAKER_00:Uh, I'm going to be away. I'm leaving for Wisconsin tomorrow. Then I come back. Um yeah, I don't have anything coming up. Oh, uh Brett Michaels is coming to town. And he will be in Pompado Beach Amphitheater in March. He's so awesome and so fun. And he invited me to come on stage and play the bongos with him. So I'm Are you okay?
unknown:No.
SPEAKER_00:So hopefully that comes true, and hopefully he doesn't forget. But he's like, Yeah, definitely come on stage, come sit. So I was like, okay, totally. So I'll be doing that.
SPEAKER_02:Well, I don't know if I'm in town that day, but if I am, I will be there.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, good. Okay. And then maybe we can have him do a quick podcast thing.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god. So you never know. I love him. I I met him.
SPEAKER_00:He's the nicest man ever. So cool.
SPEAKER_02:He's so cool. And I did get a uh Steve got a cameo. He bought me a cameo from him after my mom passed. I saw that.
SPEAKER_00:I saw that. Yes. Me too. Me too. Yeah. It's annoying. It's like, how many why why do people want to be fake Brett Michaels? I mean, he's awesome, but really? That's he okay.
unknown:All right.
SPEAKER_02:It's so wild. The internet is a wild place, Tracy.
SPEAKER_00:It is, it's a wild place. All right.
SPEAKER_02:Well, any anything. Okay, so that's pretty exciting. I don't know how we talk Brett Michaels. We're gonna have to look for that in the spring. No, his his show is great. I've seen him many times in concert, and we got to meet him at the Hard Rock the last time he was here. In fact, that is how I met the tone because really Brett Michaels, Brett Michaels comes out is right before COVID. It was this it was December 3rd. I had to go to New York the next day for a trip, so I was like literally at a like a 6 a.m. flight the next morning. And I almost told Steve to sell the tickets because I was like, it's gonna be such a late night and we gotta get an early morning flight. And he's like, come on, I said, okay, I'm gonna rally. So he did a special for like 200 bucks, you could have a meet and greet, and all the proceeds were going to like the veterans because you know he's so curious.
SPEAKER_00:Oh he's so into the veterans, yes.
SPEAKER_02:He is so he's like, all the proceeds are gonna go to the veterans charities that I support. It's 200 bucks, so like he had like a line like 40, 50 people on. Yeah. So anyway, we did the meet and greet. And when he was done performing, like when just before he was about to do nothing but a good time to end the show, he goes, All right, I got two of the most badass rock and rollers on I'm gonna bring out on stage with me. These are two of my best friends in the business, baddest rock and rollers you ever known. And I'm thinking, oh my god, who the hell is he gonna bring out? Like this Alice Cooper? Oh my god. Ozzy. And he goes, please welcome to the stage, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone.
SPEAKER_00:And I went biggest rock and rollers.
SPEAKER_02:Because I was like, who's bringing out? Ozzie Osborne? I mean, this is like Exactly.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:So when I tell you I almost lost my shit. Because at that point, Joey Fatone's on the bucket list to me, because he was crushed. And I said to Steve, I'm like, we gotta be on a plane in like eight hours. And I can't leave the hard rock because Joey Fatone is in the same building as me. And now I can't leave the hard rock. I gotta find him. Do you know we went to the steakhouse? And he was there? He was there eating.
SPEAKER_01:Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02:Brett was finishing up his meeting greet. They were in the restaurant that he was gonna be meeting up with them after. Because I was like, there's only one place you go if you're a celebrity to eat. It's Council of Steakhouse. And I'm like, oh my god, I have I I I can't leave.
SPEAKER_00:Did you go slide up right next to him?
SPEAKER_02:I'm standing there and I can't I can't go to the table because I'm like, I can't interrupt somebody's dinner. Like, I have manners. I have I don't have as much cooth as I need to at times, but I have manners. And then all of a sudden, this big humongous security guard starts walking towards me, and I'm like, oh my god, they're onto me. They know I'm not supposed to be here, even though I've eaten in that restaurant many times. I'm like, but I don't have a reservation. Like, I'm not eating here tonight. Like, I'm a fraud. I'm not supposed to be here. Huge guy starts walking towards me, this like security guy. And there's Joey Fatone walking with him, coming straight towards me.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02:And I'm like, oh my god, they found me out. I'm a fraud, I'm not supposed to be here. And I go, I'm so sorry to bother you. I'm like, but I just I just have to talk to you. And he's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I had just gotten a new phone. I didn't even know how to work it. I was so nervous. Oh no. He took my phone, he flipped the camera, he took our selfie. Unfortunately, did not ask me to run away with him. Like I really go, I was like, what are you doing right here? Like he goes, actually, I was trying to go to the bathroom. I went, oh my god. He goes, No, he was showing me where the bathroom was. I haven't been here before.
SPEAKER_00:That's a fun conversation to have. I was going to the bathroom.
SPEAKER_02:Fatone was great. He was actually here because Brett Michaels was like the Grand Marshal for the Winterfest boat parade and doing all the events at the Hard Rock, and they had the concert. So Fatone is always in town during this actually particular week of December for all the Winterfest activities. So it's not odd to see them together. And I was just like, it was like one of the best nights of my life. I got Michaels and Fatone. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00:Gosh, same night. That's unbelievable.
SPEAKER_02:The week before that was holidays with the housewife. So it was in December to remember. And then the world shut down for COVID.
SPEAKER_00:Boo. Boo. And then the world shut down. Lemo.
SPEAKER_02:And then the world shut down.
SPEAKER_00:But what a way to see it out.
SPEAKER_02:I just want to thank you so much. Thank you. On the podcast today.
SPEAKER_00:I feel like we could talk for three more hours. We've got to continue this.
SPEAKER_02:I know. I'm going to spare our listeners that for now. Until next time when we have more to talk about.
SPEAKER_00:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:So uh just remind us when are you on the air on what station in case we want to listen?
SPEAKER_00:I am on Sunny 1079 afternoons two until six. Currently, we are South Florida's official Christmas music station. After that, we're going to go back to the greatest hits of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. So all of our favorite stuff that we grew up with and partied with and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_02:I love it. Well, I love the listening. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for being my best friend today.
SPEAKER_00:Thank you for being my best friend today. Until next time.
SPEAKER_02:Don't leave me, yes. Until next time.
SPEAKER_00:Until next time.
